After the failure of Google Notebook and many other attempts to create useful and easy to use digital notebooks, Evernote was the only robust software that I would recommend. Until now.

Springpad surprised me by its seamless sync capabilities across different platforms and elegant web interface. However, what makes it stand out is the way it lets you organize your stuff in different categories, easily identifiable by icons. Bookmarks, restaurants, wines, and much more can be quickly captured, stored and accessed later in an easy way.

Also, the Android app is very snappy and, unlike Evernote, let's you store data locally. I didn't have the chance to try the iPad and iPhone apps yet.

Smish is a verb that means to compress, simplify or squeeze many things into one. To experience compact bliss. Smish is a free download that takes the gazillion apps that are coming to your computer, along with all your files, friends, feeds and favorite sites, and smishes them together into one simple window. This new app platform floats up with a double right click and disapears just as easy.

Although I'd like to play with it to understand better where it can add value to my day-to-day (as opposed to just adding another app to play with), the concept does sound interesting. I have just signed up for the beta program and am looking forward to the Mac version that is currently under development.

Dubbed "The smarter way to manage your Web Analytics & SEO", goingup! is a free tool that claims to offer: Web Stats and Analytics, Page Rank, SEO Optimization, Website Tools and Search Engine Marketing in a single user-friendly UI.

Although I don't believe it can beat analytics, it does offer additional information that is useful to web marketers. Since it's free, why not give it a try?

Plan Cruncher creates a standard one-page summary of a business plan for a start-up company that is looking for external investment. You do this by choosing icons that represent some of the standard answers that a business plan must provide.

I really liked the concept and would love to use the product. However, I am not sure folks will be comfortable to send corporate communication to a 3rd-party unless it is a company they reaaaaly trust.

I am interested in learning about how these guys will address this fundamental issue.

I am writing this post listening to music from my personal library. What's new about that? The fact that I can do it from any computer I use (and from my iPod Touch soon).

AudioBox.fm is a sleek player that looks a lot like iTunes. It allows you to upload your media to their secure server and then listen (and manage playlists) from any browser (Mac, Linux and Windows). iPhone app is currently under development.

For now, they are offering a Free 250 MB plan, but soon they will provide different paid plans to allow you to upload your whole library, hopefully at a reasonable price.

So far, the experience has been great. Setting up the account was a snap and I didn't have any problems uploading roughly 100 MB in MP3 songs. By the way, sound quality is very good and I didn't experience any buffering gaps.
